Municipal workers found the body of a newly born baby girl wrapped in a black plastic bag along a street at Extension 7 in Butterworth in the Eastern Cape on Thursday.
Eastern Cape police spokesperson Captain Jackson Manatha said: “The workers were busy cleaning the streets of Butterworth when they discovered the foetus early this morning [Thursday] at about 07:15. Butterworth police have opened an inquest docket for further investigation.” (www.allforwomen.co.za)

Not AGAIN (my reaction)
Just as I was about to knock off, this is the kind of news that lands in my inbox. This is very disturbing to me and I have so many questions, so many emotions. I believe that each and every woman in society needs to start taking responsibility for each and every girl child that they see in their neighbourhood. If someone throws away a baby, why is it that no one advised them about contraceptive options?
Why is their family members not asking what happened to their pregnancy? Where are the church people, teachers, friends and relatives?

This is just another news story and tomorrow it will be forgotten, but somewhere in EC there is a father who probably doesn’t know they fathered a child, or denied it? A grandmother who is not asking hard questions, or perhaps an orphan who was alone and decided that they can’t raise a child, so therefore they will throw the baby away…whatever the reason, no child deserves this…

THAT child could have been a future someone…
